Q1. Caleb, tell me where it all started, what or who inspired you to want to pick up a camera and get behind it.
My grandfather. He trekked far and wide as a young man. Hiking all over the south island. Growing up my grandparents house always had a good few stunning landscapes on the wall from his travels and that was my inspiration to pick up a camera.

Q2. Whats your vibe? describe your style?
I'm shooting for a timeless effect. Whether it be a car from the 1980's or a forest formed thousands of years ago, I want you, the viewer to experience a timeless image. Nostalgia is everything to me and I hope it comes across in my images.

Q3.Dream camera, unlimited budget what would it be or do you already have it!
Hasselblad H5D with the 100 megapixel back. The best of the best. Unbeatable. What else even competes?

Q4.Tell us about a photographer whose work inspires you, what do you like about their work?
Andris Apse. A legendary landscape photographer in New Zealand. To what extent they knew each other I don't know, but I know my grandfather had met Apse back in the day in his travels through the south island which inspired me to pick up some of his publications of work. I now have a growing collection of his books and I couldn't recommend them more.

Q5.Mentors or someone who has helped you greatly, encouraged you in your photography passion.
A lot of my family have proven a source of consistent support for me with photography. From a young age I was pushed to pursue my love of photography by my parents, grandparents and many more beyond.

6. Mac or PC and why?
I've recently moved to Mac. I'm an enthusiast of design by nature and I appreciate what apple brings to the table. So I made the switch.

7. What's in your kit , send us a pic with a description of your gear or fave piece of kit.
All depends on the day. For digital it'll be my battle worn Canon 6D. For landscapes I use a 17-40mm Canon L, an 85mm 1.4 and a selection of vintage glass. My film kit consists of a gorgeous medium format 1970's Mamiya M645 kit and a 35mm Chinon M1, given to me by my grandfather many years ago.

8.Any challenging shoots youve experienced, youve shot some awesome vehicles, whats been your all time fave?
Highlight vehicle for me has been one of my most recent shoots. A 1950s Jag XK convertible. A rare car as it is but the example I had the pleasure of photographing and even assisting with working on had incredible race history within New Zealand. In red she was a killer.

9.Tell us about an image you shot that you are really proud off and why?
I once sat patiently as the sun rose over oriental bay and waited an hour for the light to be perfect and a flock of seagulls to fly past gracefully to capture the sun rising over the marina as perfectly as I could manage.
